The White Pine Death March

Skiied with Erik last Sunday and here's a little movie.

No Name Baldy

Did a great shot off of No Name down this chute. Fun and not too hard...unless you accidentally left your skins on. That's right. I'm a dumbass that couldn't figure out till the bottom why my skiing sucked so bad. The snow is pretty dismal out here so at least I didn't screw up some sweet powder shot.

Dawn Patrol

Sometimes it's fun to wake at 4am, go skiing for 3 hours, and then head to work. What better way to start your day?

What price, glory?

I just wanted to share with everyone an example of what happens to your body parts when they hit rocks while skiing.

Cold In Hueco

Melissa seems to always find the bad weather when climbing. She's now in Texas where it's been snowing.

Chillin at the Tipi

Went out for a long-ass day with Erik. I would always fiddle with my forzen camelbak tube just so he could break more trail. We found a teepee up on the Maybird/RedPine ridge.

Day 5 - Return of the Sausage

Lots of demo skis we tried today...but not a lot of snow at Alta to play on. This pic of Rob sums up how everyone felt at the end of Sausage Fest '07. Damn good time had by all. Here's to doing it again next year.

Day 4 - The Two Sausages

We went up to Brighton today and got a one-ride ticket up Millicent lift to get to the Twin Lakes area and skiied Figure 8 hill, Twin Lakes Pass, Patsey Marley, and then over to East Bowl of Silver Fork down to Solitude.

The Fellowship of the Sausage - Day 3

Day 3 was kind of a rest day for everyone. We got our faces stuffed at the Pancake House and then went up to Snowbird to try out the avy beacon training park and watch the heli land on our heads. The beacpn park was broken but we played around with burying/searching with our own beacons. The party then moved on down to Pink Pine Ridge to get some powder shots in the trees. That's where Adam went 'Old School' with his awesome double pole technique.

The Fest - Day 2

We teamed up with another special guest star today - Mike 'Curly' Kurlich. We hiked up to the west bowl of Silver Fork and got another great day. Memorable moment - when Rob tried to auger through the snow to pop out in China.

Sausage Fest '07 Day One

We got the fest off to a good start by having a storm roll through town yesterday. Heavy Metal Drew, Rob E. Hickey, and Fordzilla came in late last night. Special guest star John Malloy joined us for a slog up to Cardiff Pass where we got good shots in 8" of powder. Got about 5000' in this day. Note the heli in one of the pics -- we don't need no stinkin' heli.

Let the Fest Begin!

Sausage Fest 2007 is almost here. Drew, Rob, and Ford are coming out for 5 fun filled days of adventure skiing in the greater Wasatch Range. The house is going to be filled with 4 stinky dudes. Good thing Melissa won't be here to see it.

New Snow

Self portrait with a tear of blood on my cheek. Check out those glasses -- thanks to my father-in-law. Yes, I need a haircut.

Cardiff - Solitude - Day 16 ski

Sorry I don't have tons of powder pics...I don't have time to take the camera out on days like that. This was a great tour with pretty tough windpack snow. I made one tele-turn for every 50 parallel turns. But at least made it to Cardiff with Erik and Jeff, who both work at Myriad. We skinned over to the ridgeline between Cardiff and Mill B (see pics). Skiied the NE bowl of Solitude. It was primo-if it had powder.
